HHS Proposes New "Centralized" Medicare Database

Public Has Until January 15, 2002 to Comment

Washington, D.C.--The public has until Tuesday, January 15, 2002 to share their comments on the federal government's proposal to establish a centralized database that "would provide a database of pertinent and comprehensive personal data on people with Medicare" and others. The "notice of a new system of records" was announced in the Federal Register on December 6, 2001.
